WHO BENEFITS FROM PTSD SERVICE K9S?
The short answer is – anyone with PTSD symptoms, diagnosed or not, will benefit from the many ways a properly trained PTSD Service Dog has been proven to help. Decreased stress and anxiety will lead to better and more productive days. Having trust in the dog, and understanding its amazing capabilities will go a long way in providing comfort when you feel most vulnerable.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND PTSD SERVICE DOGS
Research has shown that people who frequently interact with dogs typically have reduced heart rates and lower blood pressure than those who don’t. Studies also suggest that people who suffer from PTSD symptoms, who have a companion K9, have better relationships with their families, friends and coworkers than those who don’t. As a bond grows between the dog and handler, the handler has shown to have increased Oxytocin in their blood, which has shown to improve behavior and social interactions.
WHY CHOOSE FIRST DEFENSE K9?
